Frequently Asked Questions / Legal Info

  • What camera do you use to take your photos? and what digital cameras would you recommend?
All photos taken before October, 2000 were taken with either a Fuji MX-1200 or a Fuji Finepix 1400. Both of these cameras are 1.3 Megapixel, resulting in low resoultion pictures. All other pictures were photographed using a Nikon Coolpix 990, a 3.34 megapixel camera. I cannot recommend enough Nikon's digital cameras. They were developed with both the amateur and the professional in mind. If you are looking at purchasing a digicam, decide on the features you want before you start shopping. Also, take a look at both Steve's Digicams and Imaging Resource for great digicam news & reviews.
  • Can I use your photos on my website?
Yes, you may use my photos on your website under the following conditions.
    1. You do not use them for commercial purposes.
    2. You do not edit, resize, crop, or manipulate the photos in any way.
    3. You provide a link back to Twisted Rails and give me credit.
If you follow the above conditions you do not need my permission to use any photo. Please contact me at karldeangelo@twistedrails.com if you would like to use any photo for commercial use. Most photos are available at a resolution of 2048x1536.
  • Can you add a link to my website?
My goal is to keep my links section limited to unique websites and the best of the best. It does not mean I do not like your website or that its not good. I've just decided to reserve it for the few websites I enjoy visiting on a very frequent basis (almost daily).
  • Can you post my photos on Twisted Rails?
I try to keep most aspects of Twisted Rails based upon my own content and photos. There is the very RARE exception such as the Dreamworld construction, but those exceptions are few and far between. The best idea if you have your own photos/content is to start up your own website.
  • How do you take your on-ride photos and do you have any suggestions on photo taking?
When taking on-ride photos, it is essential to have an excellent grip on your camera and a hand/wrist strap. It's always a good idea to ride the coaster if it's new to you before you try to take any photos. This way you know where you want to take your photos and where any possible bumps are which might knock the camera out of your hand.
Take your time for photo taking and take into account where your light source is. Because of the sun, some rides may photograph better in the morning than the evening. Remember this, plan your photos and they will turn out better.

When taking construction photos never should you cross over any barriers erected by the park without approval AND a park representative with you. They are there for your safety as well as the parks. Crossing them is also considered trespassing, which could get you arrested. Just don't do it. Twisted Rails does NOT condone any said actions. All photos for Twisted Rails were, and will be taken in public unless accompanied by an official park representative.
